The association is named 'TAURA' for short.

Taman Ampang Utama is located across the road from Ampang Point, a prominent landmark in Ampang. 

The South border of Taman Ampang Utama is about 300m from Ampang LRT Station.

The start of the Ampang Ulu Kelang Elevated HIghway or AKLEH on Jalan Ampang is at the East border of Taman Ampang Utama.

The properties are bungalows and the owners or residences comprise all races in Malaysia as well as expatriates. Several Embassies and High Commissions are located in Taman Ampang Utama.
